Homemade Flatbreads

These easy homemade flatbreads use just a few simple ingredients. Making recipes like this is a great reminder of how effortless it can be to skip processed foods and eat healthier.

✨ Flour
✨ Yoghurt
✨ Olive Oil
✨ Salt

Grab one of your big mixing bowls and prepare to get a little messy with this one!

Start by pouring 2 cups of flour into your bowl, followed by 2 cups of yoghurt, a good splash of olive oil, and a decent sprinkle of sea salt.

Once everything is in the bowl, I like to gently dampen my hands to stop the mixture from sticking too much. Then, get in there and start kneading the mixture into a dough. I usually knead it for a good 10 minutes or so.

After that, assess your dough, if it’s still quite wet, add a bit more flour. If it’s dry and crumbly, add some more yoghurt to loosen it up. Once you're satisfied with the consistency, sprinkle it with some flour and cover it with a tea towel.

After about an hour, grab a large chopping board and a rolling pin. Take your dough and cut it into chunks, this amount usually makes between 8 and 12 flatbreads, depending on how big you want them. Roll each chunk into a ball, then sprinkle your board with flour and roll out each flatbread. No need to be precise here they can be odd shapes!

From there, grab a flat-based pan and put it on high heat. Add a little butter and pop in a flatbread, cooking for 1–2 minutes on each side. Keep an eye on them and judge when they’re done to your liking.

To keep them warm while you cook the rest, I like to wrap them in tin foil.

And there you have it, delicious homemade flatbreads!

Enjoy them as they are, or sometimes I like to brush them with melted butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper for an extra tasty twist.
